Trossi members free maritime assistance

In case of Trossi members non-emergency maritime assistance, recreational boats in Estonian coastal waters will be provided with easier technical assistance on-site, and/or the vessel will be towed to the nearest port from where repair assistance can be obtained. Advice will be provided on finding a vessel parking space and repair shop.

Maritime assistance is provided exclusively by teams with SAR training and equipment. The entire Estonian coast is covered by our volunteer SAR units.

For assistance, call 112, where you will be connected to the JRCC. If the JRCC considers that this is a non-emergency maritime assistance situation, the call will be routed to the Estonian Trossi 24/7 center. From there, a maritime rescue unit available in the area will be sent to provide maritime assistance. For assistance, a member of Trossi can also call the Trossi 24/7 center at +372 5555 3434.

Trossi non-emergency maritime assistance service is available from May to October.

Estonian Lifeboat Institution

Estonian Lifeboat Institution – (ELI) established on 2005 and has 35 partner-organizations, 33 of them are active voluntary maritime rescue organizations with more than 50 search and rescue teams on Estonian coast. ELI has tight cooperation with many stakeholders on the state level as Parliament, Ministry of Interior, Rescue Service Department and Police and Border Guard and authorities on regional and local level. ELI is active member of International Maritime Rescue Federation and participating in technical innovation and fundraising working groups. Wide-ranged international and national cooperation experience gives Estonian Lifeboat Institution abilities to organize international and national partnership activities.

The most important activity under the ELI Statute is the saving and preservation of human lives, property and nature.
